PLAY IT AT YOUR OWN RISK

kias comment is right, you will turn into kanade staying in yoyr room 24/7 and will gamble over fictional characters

YOU WILL FORGET WHAT YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS LOOK LIKE AND WILL FORGET HOW TO EVEN BREATHE FRESH AIR

you will even cry and pick a fight with a wall and throw ur phone across the room if u accidentally get one good/miss/bad

i try to control myself into not playing this game again but akito is pushing me to do it

“I don't want to play with project sekai anymore”

This is a good game, a great new release for the gacha rhythm market.

The graphics are a solid 10/10 - the cards (both “actors” and “posters”) are, objectively speaking, beautiful and bloomed illustrations are animated. The 3D models are well-made and don't look uncanny despite the blank stares, with nice outfits and detailed stage effects to match. Live2D models are modern and smooth.

The music is great. Nothing outstanding about the covers, but the original songs are catchy. Some characters' voices sound very amateurish, but that's not a death sentence. Planetarium Revue sounds like a song by fine from Enstars at the beginning.

The gameplay is very visibly inspired (if you could even call it that) by project sekai, with the same lane design, changing note sizes, note tap effects and even skill activation UI. It is, however, different in that hold notes, instead of sliding left or right, move via flicks in the middle of them. Each song also has several parts where note sizes are fixed to a number of even lanes (every note takes up exactly a third/fourth/fifth of the screen instead of being random). These are relatively novel concepts and i'm glad this game has something special to it.
(!!!!!EDIT!!!!!: The paragraph below no longer applies as it has been patched. To greatly reduce lag you can click the cogwheel in the game start menu and select “OpenGL”. I'm still keeping it in to preserve history of the game's state at launch)
All the above points are, however, negated by the horrendous lack of optimization, making the game almost unplayable with lag every time a purple note comes up because its lane effect is too much for the game to handle, and after playing a single song on the most minimalist of settings possible you might as well go fry an egg on your phone. If you have a new high-end phone, you might get away with simply disabling 3D, but i nearly burnt my finger trying to unlock a Stella chart (equivalent to proseka's requirement to clear an expert chart with few goods or worse before accessing a master)
The teambuilding aspect is surprisingly complex, with needing to take as much as card colour and position in the team to properly activate Sense and Star Acts, respectively.
The UI is easy enough to navigate, with the slightly outdated but practical “bottom of the screen” menu. Something incredibly sweet about the home page is that you can click on the girls in the lobby to select the tab where they appear (e.g. pressing Koyomi will direct you to the Story tab).

Not rating the storyline because i have not and am not planning to try to translate the game or watch the anime. I can note, though, that it was a galaxy brain decision to name one of the units “Eden”.

The value is difficult to rate for a game taking its first steps. The prices in the shop don't arise any suspicions from me, but i'm not knowledgeable at all on the matter. There's a log-in pass for only 480 yen, but it barely gives you enough for a 10-pull.
The gacha rates for the actors (the cards you use in your actual lineup) are a standard of 82% for the 2★, 15% for the 3★ and 3% for the 4★, while the rates for the posters (support cards that also give costumes, as far as i can tell) are 80% for R, 16% for SR and 3% for SSR. Both have sparks at 200 pulls.
Logging in on release gives you enough to make 30 pulls. Completing a song on any difficulty gives you 30 Geki jewels and getting rank A on extra gives you another 30. There seem to be a few missions that give the geki jewels, but they're one-time and i failed to find any dailies, which i suppose will be added later. Visible free geki jewel income doesn't seem extremely bright, but maybe i'm just not looking where i should or most of them are going to come from events. What i am certain about is that i am not particularly drowning in dia at the moment, though.
Speaking of freebies, there's an ongoing mission to get a free Kokona actor 4★ by doing absolutely nothing (read a single main story episode, clear two game modes once, spend stamina, etc) and another one to get an SSR poster of each group by doing way too much (read their main story, which is modeled after banseka's unit splitting and 20 episode format, get the total level of all cards of the members to 1000, get a full combo which [was] completely impossible at the moment, etc). This is probably just the honeymoon phase, but i still consider it generous because the cards look pretty.

TL;DR: Game good but so very laggy (not anymore!)

As expected of a GCrest otome, the graphics are on point (and I should hope so, this game's universe predecessor Yume100 hit its 7 year anniversary not long ago). The very bare bones story premise is pretty typical: the player character grows up thinking she's ordinary and then very suddenly finds out she's actually a special snowflake and through a very serendipitous set of quickly occurring events is put into a position where she's now shunted off onto an adventure surrounded by a bunch of handsome guys. I do like that they're pulling in some references to Yume100 since YumeKuro is set in the same universe, but mostly it's been its own animal. Honestly I'm glad that their faeries (even if they're "corrupted" into this state) are much closer in nature and behaviour to traditional fae where, while they might not be completely malicious towards humans (though a lot of the faeries in YumeKuro justifiably are), they aren't exactly beings you should ever take at face value and are quite powerful in their own rights.

They FINALLY learned to put a pity system into their gacha, wish they'd add that into their older games too. Gacha rates are pretty typical at 3% (10% for faeries), with the highest natural rarity being 4☆, and a good portion of the cast being story rewards rather than everyone existing only in gacha.

The game itself is pretty well put together overall in terms of difficulty and scaling, but its two glaring flaws are the AP to EXP payout and by extension the drop rate of story character pieces. Getting only 5 chances at a hard map node per day is all well and fine if not for the fact that, even with an updated drop rate, you're not guaranteed to get a piece in those 5 daily runs. On top of that, it takes a frankly disgusting amount of AP for any node; even the lowest level normal difficulty map node costs 12AP and this quickly ramps up to almost triple this in later hard mode nodes. At level 48, I have 149AP, which isn't enough to complete all 5 allowances for the highest level node, and if I wanted to finish that last node I have to wait 1.5 hours to get the AP. 33AP for 11EXP - that's only 5 EXP more than a 12AP node, btw - when at level 48 you need almost 7.9k EXP to level feels unnecessarily limiting.

EDIT: They've since adjusted the AP costs for things *A BIT* and are merciful enough to give AP as mission rewards more regularly, enough to bump the gameplay rating up to decent, but the AP to EXP ratio is still pretty garbage and it's not enough of an AP adjustment to make me feel terrific when farming events and character pieces.

Priorities in gacha pulling should go thus: limited characters > event specific characters > new characters. New characters (denoted with 夢のはじまりunder their names) will eventually be added into the permanent pool.

In addition, they've started holding reruns of past events, so new/returning players will eventually be able to snag those. Be advised that they only rerun the banners for the 2 rerun events with an extra point bonus on top of the bonuses applied by having related characters. You CAN play all past rerun events during that period; only your RERUN progress in those will be saved.

First day player impression.
This game is fine. Artwork and voice acting are great, music is amazing because ofcourse, it's still Touhou.

Gameplay is possibly the best among all Touhou gacha game. Which doesn't say much because most of them are disappointments, i know. But it's alright. A mix of Zombie Tsunami and some bullet hell, some RPG elements.
Unlike CB/LW, it's not a grindfest because of skip tickets.
It has auto pilot mode, but you gotta pilot all the harder stages so the fun doesn't simply go away. It's also surprisingly hard to get 3* challenge rewards from a stage(3* challenge, not 3* a stage). Those are: Take no hit, Kill all enemies, Collect all coins. You can also retry a stage if you wish to finish all challenge, it doesn't cost anything. Can borrow friend's support 3 times everyday for free.

Oh yeah it also has Memory Film system similar to Genshin's Artifacts/E7 Gears. Ugh.... Hate this RNG.

Now.... Gacha. It's hard to say. It's quite similar to Blue Archive which mean "bad enough but managable"
SSR(3*) rate is 2.5%, rate up character 0.75%, need 200 for spark, banner last for 2 weeks and the game seems to gives gem as much as most standard gacha game out there. As newbie you can atleast pull 30 times, so use it for rerolling for whoever you like.

Overall, not too bad as a side game. For now.

Edited: Drop to 3.4 because the crash issue is getting more and more often. It's annoying.

Edited(2): After playing for a few months, i came to the conclusion that this game is the best gacha Tohhou game so far. Finally an actual fun, engaging Touhou gacha game with lots of contents. You don't have to trust the devs or me, but i have only seen positive things from them... atleast in this game. Hopefully the next time i edit this review, it wouldn't be bad news.

Edited(3): Unfortunately, it was bad news. Events have gotten worse. Character have different skills compare to their PV. Touhou AR also followed LW and released a new Remilia in different clothing as new characters... Worse, she has no voice whatsoever. New PC-98 event looks hype but it was actually just a huge let down. Atleast the gameplay is still alright.

Edited(4): This will be my last edit until this game gets better... or closed. Anniversary event happened during Late July and it was a complete disappointment. Only 2 old characters in different clothing as new ones, they don't even have voice. One more new music, which is the first new music after serveral months. That's all, literally nothing else. No new contents ever since my 3rd edit. Apparently Klab no longer have enough money to make new content anymore.... I feel like Arcadia Record won't last much longer. It would take a miracle to save this game. Truly a shame, it had potentials and it was fun.
